Bothell Police to Conduct Active School Shooter Training Exercises

Press Release: The Bothell Police Department will be conducting Active School Shooter Training exercises during the week of June 13th, at the University of Washington Bothell / Cascadia Community College campus in the City of Bothell.  These training exercises are being conducted in conjunction with City of Bothell Fire and E.M.S. and University of Washington Bothell Campus Safety in an effort to sharpen response and cooperative actions should Bothell ever experience a critical incident of this nature in a school or public venue.

These exercises are focused on providing consistent training and tactics, and to facilitate an effective, coordinated effort should an active shooter or mass casualty incident occur in the City of Bothell.

This year’s curriculum is focused on law enforcement and fire department specific tactics.  We recognize the cooperation that is necessary between all of the emergency responders in these events.  It is our goal to continue to develop our training and coordination with our partners in the Fire and EMS community.

The Bothell Police Department PIO will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13th, at the Bothell Police Department to answer media questions about the exercise. Due to safety concerns and staffing limitations, this briefing will be the only opportunity for media involvement with these exercises.
